The Challenge

Have you ever wanted to serve in leadership but you felt you lacked the skills? Perhaps while leading a small group or an outreach team you faced problems you didn't know how to resolve. Many of us have learned through the school of hard knocks. This, unfortunately, leaves too many wounded people.

Course Content

• Servant Leadership: Jesus' style of leadership
• Team Leadership: You will learn skills such as ministry set up, budgeting, pastoral leadership of a team, etc.
• Leadership Styles: You will learn to expand your leadership styles and abilities, as well as to understand the giftings and needs of those you lead.
• Small Group: You will learn leadership skills and gain an understanding of group dynamics.
• Priorities of a Leader: You will learn how to keep God’s priorities and to stay spiritually fresh, while fulfilling leadership responsibilities.

Practical

This course will begin prior to a Discipleship Training School (DTS). During the course each participant will have practical experience in giving hands on leadership or co-leadership in some facet of the DTS, SOME or one of our youth ministries. This hands-on experience will include leadership responsibilities on one or more of the upcoming outreaches. Upon completion of this course a 6 month apprentice program will be offered and is strongly recommended.
