One of our team members, Kelsey, injured her knee during the first week of her being in the Dominican Republic. She had fallen off of a boat and was in pretty bad shape for most of the outreach. She had gone to the doctors in the Dominican Republic, who proposed that she might need surgery. At one point she even had to have the fluid drained off of her knee.
Some of us had prayed for her along the way, but one day in particular a few of us really had it impressed upon our hearts to seek God for her healing. At this point she was still walking on crutches and had been for quite some time, her knee was also still pretty swollen and she could barely bend it.
So, we gathered around her and began to pray for Kelsey to be healed. We prayed, sang, spoke scriptures over her, told her to get up and walk, she even prayed and sang. It truly was a time of pressing into God to show up. At one point, we anointed oil and laid hands on her knee. As I placed my hand on her knee cap, I could feel things moving in her knee, as could Christina. Kelsey felt her knee get hot. After this occurred we all felt like God had said He healed her and now she was to go through physical therapy.
It wasn´t an obvious change, her knee didn´t shrink in size and she wasn´t able to jump around. She could however walk without crutches and bend her knee a bit more. Needless to say those of us who were praying knew God showed up and trusted what He had done.
So a few weeks later, Kelsey goes to a doctor in the USA. Who tells her that she is healed and just needs to do home-therapy. How awesome and faithful is God! Who not only healed, but gave confirmation to what He had said to us in the Dominican Republic. Our God is so good!!!
