One of the students made a comment that what propelled her working on the orphanage was that every blcok she moved represented an orphan. The Teams heart has been amazing, giving iteams to the needy in the Bateys. Seeing many salvations and ministering to over 220 people and praying for at least half of them. It has been an amazing time of ministry. The DR has been so blessed by this teams heart for its people. |

Since coming to Barahona we have been working hard on the orphanage here. When this is finished it will be the first orphanage here in Barahona. We´ve been slinging blocks, mixing morter, moving piles of rocks, and generally working harder than we have in our lives! The other half of ministry that we have been doing is going to the Bateys, which are poor Dominican neighborhoods, doing prayer walks and inviting people to come see our dramas, hear testimonies, and a gospel message. The team made braclets to hand out to the people and when handing them out giving the message that Jesus loves them. Also, playing with the kids of the Batey is a huge part of our ministry. Baseball, crafts, and jump rope have been some of the ways that we have been trying to show them that we love them and through extenstion God´s heart for them. The rest of the time we have here will be inviting people in the neighbor hood that we have been staying in to a presentation of our dramas and testimonies. Then an afternoon at the beach. Then flying back to the States |

The team has been working on the orphanage which will be the first orphanage in Barahona! We´ve been slinging a lot of blocks, mixing morter, moving piles of rocks and generally working hard. Visiting the Batey is the other ministry we´ve been doing. The team has made braclets to hand out to the people they meet. Telling them about Jesus love as they hand them out. We´ve gone on prayer walks through the Batey´s inviting people to come to watch the dramas and hear testimonies as well as praying for when we invite them if they have any requests. Bonita, Joe, Amanda, and Shelby all have shared their testimonies. Playing with the kids has also been a major part of our ministry in the Batey doing ¨VBS¨ activities with the kids and showing them Jesus´love through that. Today we will be working with the other youth group here and putting on our dramas for the locals that live around the compound we stay at, followed by an afternoon at the river. Then flying back to the States! |

Mission Adventures is in full force in the Dominican Republic. We have two teams with us this week. One from Pennsylvania and one from Florida. Both have had opportunities to work on the orphanage and to share Jesus with people in many communities. One of the teams after sharing through dramas and testimonies saw salvations and rededications. Its been a blessed time here in Barahona. |
