"Believers who have the gospel keep mumbling it over and over to themselves. Meanwhile, millions who have never heard it once fall into the flames of eternal hell without ever hearing the salvation story." - K.P. Yohannan

Prayers from Our New Brother in Christ from India

Each time YWAM Orlando sends out a Discipleship Training School to the nations we are praying for every student to get a chance to share the Gospel in a life changing way. One such story was told to us by a returning student from her outreach to India. She currently is continuing her training at YWAM Orlando´s School of Ministry Development before retuning to sharing her faith in Asia.

There I was, sitting in India with three University students. I greeted them and invited them to play a game of Phase 10 with me. As we played the game, my friend Valerie and I were able to build friendships with the hope of eventually sharing the Gospel with them.

This went on for weeks. Everyday, here they came: Sujit, Nalin along with another friend Adarsh, asking one question: "Do you have your Phase 10 cards with you?" The bait had been cast, but I wasn´t sure how to go about presenting the Gospel without ruining our friendship. You see, Sujit often showed us pictures of Shiva, one of the three hundred million gods they worship, on his phone. He even had carved out gods on his key chain that he would kiss in front of us.

TractI could not bear to see their Spiritual bondage any longer. I gave the three of them Gospel tracks that read "What´s Your Final Destination?" I asked them to read it when they got home and tomorrow we would discuss what they thought. I figured if they were totally offended they wouldn´t come back, and if they came back, the door was open!

There they were the next day to my surprise! They sat down, but this time did not ask if I had my Phase 10 card game .Sujit (on the Left) very sharply went on to say that he was a Devout Hindu born and raised in the faith, and he would never dishonor his parents, family or country by converting to Christianity!

Despite what Sujit told me, I didn´t feel the door was closed. They continued to come to the coffee house, and we continued to show them God´s love and went back to our normal routine of playing Phase 10. I persisted to show them scriptures in my Bible like the Ten Commandments and John 3:16. Our whole team began to minister to Sujit, Nalin and Adarsh, and continued in prayer and fasting for their salvations.

Our two months in Delhi had come to an end, and it was our last day of coffee house ministry. I was sitting at a table with Sujit, Nalin, and Ramesh, another Hindu friend I met in the coffee house, as we played our final game of Phase 10. I felt the Spirit of God impressing so strongly on me to plea with them this one last time!

I boldly told them that God sent me to Delhi, India, to tell them how much He loves them and has made a way for them to be with Him through His son Jesus´ shed blood for them on the cross. I went on to say, "You may never see me again, and this may be your last chance to hear the Gospel message! Are you ready and willing to forsake all other gods and accept Jesus into your heart as your Only Lord and Savior?" By this time the Holy Spirit had done His work, and all three of them were so broken, they replied, "Yes, I am ready to give my life to Jesus and forsake all other gods!" Hallelujah!!!!

SmileThis was so amazing! I prayed for them and then led them through the prayer of repentance that they said with sincere conviction. I gave them all New Testament Bibles, and their eyes lit up, as they had never owned a Bible before, and the only Bible they had ever seen was mine! I advised them to begin with the Gospel of John, but they insisted they wanted to begin at Matthew so they wouldn´t miss anything! Sujit said, "I can´t wait for the day I reach John 3:16 it will be the Greatest day of my Life!"

I have continued to pray over all the seeds sown in India, as well as kept in touch with Sujit. I recently asked him how his Bible readings are coming. (His response below!)

"Bible reading going strong. I am at the acts now. It feels as usual refreshing to know god each day. New things of high knowledge are coming out to me.... You are in my prayers too. Keep praying to GOD. Keep loving him. He is the Only Light who would take Us to Eternity. He will never leave us and will continue to love us in the Darkest of hours we face."

I felt the need to pray for him, and e mail him my prayer. (His response below.)

"Amen!! Amen!! Amen!! Thank you so much sis!!. You said prayers for me to "The Almighty" God. My eyes are filled with tears of Joy and Happiness. I´ll continue to love God as he does to me and I´m sure that Our prayers will be heard.... Thank U very much for the prayer. You are in my prayers too.

I pray to Him- "O´ Lord the almighty, I pray to you that my sister should have a bright future and should continue to love you till her soul resides in her body, because after that she along with all our friends who believe in you are coming to your home only, the Heaven!! She should be perfectly happy with what she does & think and should achieve great heights in life. She should be able to spread the love that she has got from you and tell those people who don´t know that you still love them. She should be balanced in life and shall never face evil things. Fill her with your Spirit, Power and use her to be your witness, a messenger of good news. And finally thank U lord for allowing me to meet my wonderful sister that taught me about your significance and love you have for me. Encourage her soul and Use her as a member of your Kingdom....Amen!! Amen!! Amen!!"

Brother in Christ- Sujit...

The gospel is truly the Power of God unto salvation to ever one that believeth (Rom 1:16)! Thank you for all your prayers, encouragement and support and for making it possible for me to answer the call to "Go and make disciples of all nations."

Until all have heard- Love in Christ, Mona

What´s up in Delhi..

Hi all,

just wanted to write and tell you how things are actually going here in Delhi and give you some updates of how to pray for us.

So we are over half way through the outreach and we just all switched ministries from some of us working in the slums teaching the children to doing evangelism to students and working in the YWAM coffee house doing ESL lessons and evangelism. It was real hard for the ones working in the slums as they knew they might not see the children again, who are so cute. They have nothing but have so much joy. As I played yesterday in the slums with the children I saw how important the community of the slums were. They have tiny houses so all the children just play in the streets and enjoy hanging out with the friends. Community is so important here as no one has anything so they have to help each other with needs. It made me realise how comfortable we are in our homes and how often we dont step outside of our homes to see the needs of our communities, I often feel like, because life is so much more comfortable in the US, others dont have needs. How untrue this is, we know so many people have spiritual needs, maybe not so much of the physical needs as we are so blessed to live in the West. So I look forward to getting back to Orlando and playing with Liam out in the streets hoping to see our neighbours and connecting with them seeing how I can pray and help them with their needs.

So back to ministry here. It has been miraculous how God has ordained so many divine appointments, I guess we shouldnt be suprised as we prayed that God would give us friends, but still its always amazing when we hear stories of one our students making a friend who wants to learn how to play piano, and they just so happen to meet our one student that teaches back in the US. This and many other stories have shown me that God cares so much for India, but also so much for these students. That as they are obedient he will do amazing things with them, enlarging their faith for the rest of their lives, knowing that God will always do the miraculous with those that are obedient to His call.

Last Sunday for the first time since the first few days in India we were all able to go to church. We have had different students at different times have sickness. So it was awesome that half way though the outreach we were all able enough to go to church and do some dramas and testimonies and encourage the local church here. We really feel like that God has not just called us to preach the gospel to those that dont know but also to encourage the local church here. Much of the church struggles with the strongholds here, so if we can disciple them it will enable them to be more effective in reaching out to others.

So here are some prayer points for you all, thank you for partnering with us in prayer, without your prayers we would not be able to do all that God is calling us too here.

Pray for...

continued strength, it is getting hotter and hotter and the sun drains us.

against sickness.

For the friends we are making that we will have many opportunitues to share Christ with them.

Boldness as we share.

Against the strongholds of fear and confusion that grip this land.

YWAM Delhi. They have many staff here that also need discipleship and training. Pray we will have time to also encourage them and teach them.

Well thanks again for your prayers, we look forward to updating you with many more amazing miraculous stories.

4/22/2009 Coffee House Ministry – Team A

There was a group of three college students sitting in the coffee house. At first I did not want to interrupt them as they seemed to be in a heavy conservation .I felt as though I should a least try so I invited them to join me in a game of phase ten. They replied and said they were not interested and have not seen each other in a long time and came to the coffee house to catch up. I honestly got the feeling like I was bothering them, so I kindly said ok and let them be. Shortly after this I had to run out to go get something with one of our team members and when I returned there was nothing for me to do so despite my feelings I went and sat down with the group of students. All of a sudden they seemed so happy that I had come to join them. A lot here is just trying to understand there culture. They began to ask me questions and really embraced me .I told them I was doing a survey on University students to see if they know the meaning of the Student holiday they recently had called Good Friday? Only one out of the three knew it was the day Jesus died. I showed much excitement in all three responses then asked if I could share with them my testimony and how I understood the meaning of Good Friday. They said Yes please tell us. When they heard the gospel they were so moved one of the girls grabbed my hand. We went on to just talk and have fellowship. The Holy Spirit was so heavy on these three that they were all on the verge of tears. They promised to come back in 43 hours on Friday and would bring friends with them. They said again that they are so happy to have met me and they don’t know why but in all the years of their life have never met another person like me. I know this was just there first encounter with the Living Christ in me. When the time had come for them to leave one of the girls began to cry hugged me and rushed out.

4/24/09 Coffee House Ministry Team A

About two weeks ago Joanna and I were witnessing to Vivek at the coffee house .He told us he was a Hindu but did not believe in all these Gods .He said he believed in Jesus but there could be other Hindus in the coffee house and he can not publicly confess that Jesus is Lord because it could be very dangerous for him. We tried to assure him that it was safe in there but he said he could not dishonor his deceased father who was a devout Hindu. We gave him a tract and asked him to read it over and that it would help explaine. He continued to come every day to the coffee house where different members of our team continued to minister to him and just show him the Love of Christ. Also I was able to give him a New Testament bible to help understand more. So on Friday I was sharing the Gospel with two other Hindu friends when Vivek pulled up a chair. I showed them Heb.2:3 how shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation. The two Hindu men were defiantly under great conviction. So I boldly asked what choice will they make, Jesus is knocking on the door of your hearts. The first Hindu guy said something is happening in his heart and needs to go home and process this and if he could have some water, the next Hindu guy said he can not think straight right now and he also needs time to go home and think. I asked Vivek what choice will he make and he responded in the presence of these two other Hindus “I have accepted Christ as my savior!!!! The other two guys asked if I could get them copies of the New Testament when one of the staff members found a  box and we were able to give them two bran new N.T bibles…We are expecting for there salvation as well….God is truly doing a Mighty work through our entire team here in India!

Thursday, April 23 2009

Thursday mornings here on outreach are a special time set aside for friendship evangelism; we’re to go meet up with our new friends and minister to them.  When last Thursday came along, however, I found that I still hadn’t met anyone in India whom I could call and set a date with.  I spent part of my quiet time praying, asking God what I could do during the evangelism time.  He told me that I was to go to a certain little park down the street.  When evangelism time began, I headed off.
Now, at this little park, there is little idol that is sitting along the fence surrounding the park.  For this little idol, my teammate David and I have little tolerance, and whenever we are in this park, we choose to pray against it.  As I approached the idol on Thursday, however, I felt God tell me that I had another purpose than only to pray against it.  God compelled me to walk several times around the park.  On about my third lap, I was given things for which to intercede.  One lap was to praise Him for India; the next was to repent for her worship of false gods.  I was to ask for salvation, rebuke idols, ask God to make them fall; finally I was to proclaim the destruction of the idols, and to proclaim the salvation of India.
At one point, near the end of all this, I was very aggressively rebuking and praying (my hand gestures and talking aloud was a sight, I’m sure).  As I was rounding the corner to conclude a prayer lap, I glanced behind me and noticed a young Indian man following closely.  He called out, “Sir, sir!  Allow me to ask you something: Why do you walk around the park like this?”  Slightly surprised, but amused at how God can use even prayer walks to get someone’s attention, I was very glad to answer the man.
“I was walking along and I felt God tell me to stay in this park and pray for your city,” I said.
The man looked somewhat confused at this prospect, but nodded respectfully.  He asked if he could join me as I walked, to which I replied that I would be grateful for the company.
We walked along for quite some time, enjoying each other’s camaraderie.  After five or six laps of chatting about everything from the politics of a global recession to intimate details about our families, I looked over my shoulder again.  I was surprised to see a small cluster of Indian men following several feet behind, carefully observing the conversation between their friend and the obvious foreigner.  Asif, as I found out my companion was called, quickly stopped and introduced me to them as his “new good friend.”  We shook hands, and exchanged “nice to meet yous” in English and Hindi.
After all this, Asif explained that he would be late for class if he didn’t soon leave.  He first insisted, however, that we make a date for the following week: “I live 20 kilometers from here, sir, but I will gladly travel that distance to see a friend.”  We agreed on a time, and finally exchanged farewells.  After he had left, I looked for the idol, and saw it was still standing.  I was okay with that, though; one day I’m certain that idol will crumble before God.  In the meantime, God still rewarded my obedience, and I have a new task and a new friend to whom I am to minister and share the love of Christ.

Tommy.

In our ministry we are given a choice to do friendship ministry on Monday and Wednesday nights or Tuesday and Thursday mornings or both if you so choose.  I had decided to go out Monday night so I could sleep in but God had other plans, so I asked him what I should do during the day and God told me to take my guitar to the park and play for him.  So I asked what song he wanted me to play and God said he would give me the words and I asked him what park and it was one people were already ministering so I was unsure about going but by faith I went.  When I got to the park I opened my guitar case and began playing and singing my prayers for India, and interceding for them.  After about half an hour of playing no one had still come up to speak with me which is quite odd for India but one man came and sat by me and asked about my guitar and if he could play and began showing me what he knew.  He told me he was a Christian and that is friend was his pastors son and they were very curious about what we were doing here and wanted me to go to his church but he had to go to work.  So I began playing again and I began to draw a crowd of seventeen people and they listened to the words of my songs.

Divine Appointments x2

4-17-09

Finally it is my turn for a divine appointment, but not just one in one day, two in one afternoon. Up to this point I had been stealing friends from other people, they would make friends with people and then I would end up chatting to them for ages. Which is fine as often I would be praying for peoples friends as they first met them and then God would  give me words to speak or truth to speak to these people. But I really wanted to make a friend for myself and meet someone who I could connect with. So this is how it happened. I went along with the evangelism team to the university to try and make friends with students. I went to the North campus which I am told has about 35,000 students that attend. Many are busy in exams rights now so often don’t have time to stop and chat. So I partnered up with an Indian YWAM staff and we headed towards the canteen which I am told is a good place to meet people. So as we walked down the path, someone caught my attention, it was a student that I had met at the YWAM coffee house a few days earlier, I had only spoken to him briefly, but he remembered me and me him. I said hello and he asked me if I wanted to go drink some tea with him and a friend. We spent the next 45 minutes just chatting and mainly having him ask me lots of questions about the west. Many of them allowed me to talk about the Bible and Christ. For example he asked why the USA is so much more prosperous than India (Biblical world view apposed to idol worship). Why we were teaching in the slums (Christ’s example to mankind to bless the poor and needy) and just lots of other opportunities to share Biblical world view. It was awesome. He said after his exams finished in a few weeks he would come to the coffee house and hang out more. I pray he does!! So after finishing chatting to him, my partner and I headed off again to talk to someone new. We walked around for a while and eventually sat down with 2 (what I thought were random ) people. Immediately one of them told me I had played cricket with the other one (whose English was not too good) a few days before. I had no idea at first that we had played cricket with him but that enabled us to connect straight away and then I spent about 2 hours just chatting to him about many things including Christ and my testimony of giving up a good job and money to follow Christ and teaching others of Christ. He was amazed at my testimony as he thought the answer to everything was getting money and a better job. So as you can see of all the thousands of people I could of bumped into that afternoon, God had me bump into 2 people I had already connected with and allowed me to share many truths with. How awesome is God!!

Cheers

Ben

Healing story

When we came to India and were told the ministries we’d be helping in, I was overjoyed to know we would be teaching English in the slums to the children.  I wasn’t so much excited about the English part as I was just being able to shower these kids with the love of Christ and to teach them more about how he loves us.   The first day of ministry I didn’t really know what to expect and was a little overwhelmed but knew that it was going to be more of a life lesson for me than it would be for them.  By the end of the first week I found myself absolutely in love with these children and was waiting to see what amazing things God was going to do through us when my group went back for the next week.  I never expected for him to use me in the way he would.

When Monday came around and we went to class, I had taken my first aid kit because the slum teacher had hit her leg and scrapped it leaving skin open and exposed to getting infected if she didn’t clean it and cover it.  So my journey began by going to her house with our staff member from the India base and taking care of her leg.  Once that was finished we returned to the school where my other team members were carrying out the lesson to our students.    As soon as I sat down, Sunita, one of the students and one of the kids that grew a great likeness for us, came to show me her thumb.  She had burned it on something hot leaving a small blister with a bigger welt around it that was starting to blister up as well.  I took her out of the class room, rinsed her thumb with cold water and covered it should in case a blister pop and told her that if it wasn’t better in a couple days to go to a doctor.  As I was covering it I prayed that God would heal it because the pain was so bad to her that her eyes were watering as I was caring for it.  Before going back into the room I felt the sense that I needed to kiss her finger, which to me seemed like natural instinct for when children get hurt, so I did and off we went to finish class.

The next day it was the same routine.  Get up, have breakfast, do quiet time, team time, lunch, then ministry time.  As soon as I got in the room and settled, Sunita ran up to me with great excitement and stuck her thumb in my face.  To my surprise, her thumb only has a small dark spot but there was no welting or blisters to be found.  Her thumb was healed and her mood was back to her normal smiling self.

I know that God is using us here and I knew that before coming he would use me and stretch me, but I must admit, the thought never crossed me that he would use me in a healing.  God is bigger than any box and if he chooses to use the simplest instinct to heal, then that’s just what he’ll do.

Another Testimony

4/10/09 Campus Ministry Group A

We have been praying and asking God for divine appointments. David’s friend came back today as promised with two new friends. We immediately made friends with them before the start of the movie and expressed how happy we were to have them. During the Passion of Christ Movie one of the guys Ashwinniee was writing the words of Jesus down on his arm. he was deeply moved as I interceded for all our visitors .Buy the end of the movie he said he has never seen such a thing Before in his entire life and  was speechless. We invited them down stairs for refreshments and fellowship where I was able to share my testimony with Ashwinnie . I went on to explain that once I came to the truth about Christ I had no need to worship any other false Gods. I told him that God loves him so much and has a plan and purpose for his life and that God purposed that he would be here today. He went on to say that he lives five and a half hours away and came today to see his friends and thought it was a struck of luck that he came, But now see’s that this was all God’s planning. He told me he went to a Catholic school until grade 9 and would pray every day Lord reveal your plan for my life, even though he was a devout Hindu. I felt in my Spirit that this fruit was ripe and ready for picking. I asked him what he will do with this gospel he has received. I asked if he is willing to Serve Jesus and Jesus Alone…..His response was YES ! I asked again and tried to make it very clear that Jesus wants all of him being that most Hindu’s are willing to accept Christ along with there other Gods. He said that he now knows that Jesus is the true God and is working in him right now and answering his child hood prayers. With no further delay. I prayed for him and then led him through thru the prayer of repentance where he sincerely received Jesus as his Personal Lord and Savior. He said that this new truth he must share with all his friends, professors, and family. He was so eager for more of Jesus words as he had only a few lines written on his arm, I gave him my pocket bible and a few tracts to start his New Journey….Thanks Dad for this divine appointment!

Testimony Time

4-13-09

Last Monday I started my ESL ministry position with my student, Nadia who is from Korea. I was excited to find out that she had no religion. I was praying for an opportunity to share my faith with her. The first day I got to share that I was a Christian but not much more. The second day she asked me about suicide problems in schools, which gave me an opportunity to share my testimony. She thought it was awesome to see her respond the way she did. It was evident that God was using my words and testimony to touch her heart. The following day she asked me what my dreams are in life and I got to share how I would love to see every person have a chance to accept Jesus as there only God. Also I got to share more of the vision God has given me for my life and what I would love to do. Then she asked me what I would look for in a husband, which gave me another opportunity to share Christ in my life. The following day I found out she had gone to church and I got to invite her to my church as well. She was so eager to come with me, which really encouraged me. I can’t wait to see her salvation! She told me today that she has rented the passion to watch because she was not able to make it to the movie night! Continually God is giving me such openings to pure truth into her in our conversations.  God is so good; He is showing me how awesome friendship evangelism is and how much of an impact it can be. I love waiting on God and interceding for her I cant wait to announce her salvation woohoo!

4/13/09

Friday morning we left for ministry time, and upon arriving at the café we were sent out to invite people to the movie night that evening. The café was showing the Passion of Christ. My friend Leah and I hit the streets praying for divine appointments. As we walked around, we began to wonder who we would talk to since we kept not seeming to find the right people to talk to. We entered the park in our neighborhood we saw a few couples sitting around the park and we zeroed in on one couple. We walked up and introduced our selves and immediately they invited us to sit down with them. Their names were Ashish and Skika, and the told us how they are best friends. We all had a conversation that lasted about 45 minuets and left with quickly inviting them to the movie that night. I was asked to do the welcoming and closing for the program that evening. As the movie began I turned around and noticed our two friends walking in, my stomach jumped for joy. I ran over and sat next to them, however Shika became afraid and Ashish told us he would take her home and definitely come back. I was a bit sad but shortly after he did return! As we watched the movie the spiritual battle was intense I have never fought so hard and been so on edge. Natalie came and sat next to me and literally held my hand through the movie interceding for the situation. Near the end of the movie I noticed Ashish weeping, although in my human doubting I thought he must have been so insulted that I even invited him to such a horrific movie. When it was over I jumped at the chance to get out of my seat and share the beautiful part of the story. As I went to the front and shared how much the movie meant to me and how Jesus loves them all so much He died for them I saw the most touching sight. As I looked to the back I saw Ashish pick up his head and as the visible tears rolled down his cheeks a smile came to his face. I then knew we took the movie in such a positive way and the Holy Spirit really spoke to him. As I shared and asked if  anyone had any questions he raised his hand and asked to share something. At that moment I thought if he sat through that movie after just meeting me he deserves to say something. As he came up he was shaking visibly and out of his mouth proclaimed how he had never seen anything like this and never knew what Jesus had done for him. I sat there in total amazement and awe of God and how truly praise worthy He is. Ashish didn’t accept Jesus that night but accepted our invitation to church and talked with Ben and Mickey for a long time afterward. He came on Sunday to church and loved it. It was amazing to see the guys on my team step in and really take him under their wings. Ashish told me how much he respected and adored Ben and how he thinks of him as a big brother. He told me that he had never gotten so close to someone so quickly and that Ben’s genuine love amazed him. God works everything out for the good of those who love Him, and He has proved that to me.This story is something out of a dream or story book for me I am excited to see what God will do this Tuesday at our meeting as Ashish joins us in worshiping the one and only true God!!

After worship and intercession back at the coffee shop, we headed over to Delhi University around 2:45 P.M.  I walked over to a group of 6 guys and sat with them and started up a conversation.  They were very friendly and had so many questions as to why I was in India, what I was doing, where I was staying, where I was from, and how long I was staying, etc…  After talking for awhile we got into the topic of religion and our beliefs.  It was then, that I was able to tell them I was a Christian, and that I had devoted my life to Jesus Christ.  And with that being said I told them the real reason I was in India was because God had called me to be in India for 2 months.  I shared my faith and told them the Agape love Jesus gave to everyone, that Jesus died on the cross for out sins and by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior that they would have everlasting life.  After being in this topic for awhile, 3 out of the 6 needed to run errands so they took off, but the other 3 stayed with me.  After talking and talking about random topics we got into the topic of drinking and they asked me, “do you drink?”  I told them, “I quit.”  Then they asked me how old I was and I told them that I was 19 years old.  They were shocked and told me in India the drinking was age 18 or 21(I can’t remember).  And then I responded and told them the drinking age in the United States is 21 and that the smoking age is 18.  So then they asked me about my life and this opened up the opportunity for me to share my testimony.  I shared my testimony, that at the age of 13 I got into drinking, smoking, girls, parties, stealing and selling drugs etc… and lived that kind of meaningless life till the age of 18.  And I was able to break free from the bondages; being a alcoholic, a druggy, stealing constantly from as little as a piece of candy to furniture’s from Ikea, girls, parties and etc.  I told them I broke away from all these bondages though Jesus Christ, by giving my life over to Jesus Christ, confessing that I was a sinner, understanding that Jesus Christ died for my sins on the cross, and then I received Jesus as my personal Savior.  And by devoting my life and giving my life over to Jesus I was able to live a meaningful life with purpose.  So they started to ask me how they too would be able to accept Jesus as their personal Savior.  And this was my opportunity to pray for them, but I did not, and I do not know why…  but the story does not end here.  So after saying good-byes, and having planted those seeds I instantly regretted not praying for them and asking them to receive Jesus as their personal Savior.  Anyhow I had invited all of them to come to the coffee shop earlier, when we first started our conversation and surprisingly one of the 3 came back with 3 other friends.  And it was there that I was able to ask one of them if he would like to receive Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.  And he responded, “YES!”  So we started to pray together, first admitting that he was a sinner and lived a sinful life, than praying that he understood Jesus Christ died for his sins on the cross, then inviting and accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior into his heart.  After he gave his life over to Jesus, he told me he would pray for his friends to also accept Jesus Christ as their own personal Savior, which was very encouraging to me, and instantly he started to tell his friends next to him to accept Jesus!  Though his friends did not accept Jesus Christ there, I am sure that they too will accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.  I am praying and hoping that, that day will be tomorrow.  As they promised us to come tomorrow (Friday) at 4 to the coffee house to watch the Passion of Christ with us, and there I am hoping the Holy Spirit will touch them.

                        Blessings,

                        David Jee

Testimonies

Today, Meg, Kim, and I struck up a conversation with a group of three girls hanging out at the university. I began talking with one of the girls named Sanjeeda about music and found out that she really wants to learn how to play the piano. I was absolutely thrilled because I grew up playing the piano and even had a number of piano students at home. So, I pulled my little notepad out of my bag and taught her how to read music and some other piano basics. With that as a springboard, I got to talk to her for over an hour!! It was just amazing to see God orchestrate such a divine appointment. I really feel like I came away from this afternoon with a new friend. -Alli-

As I was walking around the University campus with Alli and Kim, we were praying for divine appointments and that God would lead us to the people who we could talk with and get to know. We saw three girls just sitting and chatting, and we began talking with them. At first I was only talking to one of the girls named

Goona, while Kim and Alli talked with the other two girls, however, after a while one of the girls named Mona lisa joined in and we were chatting about good places to visit in India, places we wanted to travel, school, even hair products. When we started talking about movies, I brought up The Chronicles of Narnia, which they had seen and really liked, and I told them how I had done an essay on the religious themes and symbolism in the story. I asked them if they knew much about Jesus, and one of the girls had seen Passion of the Christ and had a Bible, but was not a Christian. I asked them if they wanted to know about Jesus, and with a smile on her face one of the girls expressed that she really did want to know more! I began telling them a bit of my testimony and sharing the Gospel with them, and I was able to say to both of them, looking them straight in the eye, one at a time, that Jesus is passionately in love with both of them specifically! I also got to invite them to the showing of the Passion of the Christ at the coffee house, and even more amazing was that we saw them again about an hour later, about 15 minutes walking distance from where we met them, and got to say hi and remind them that they should come out to the movie or come hang out at the coffee house. It was totally God leading us and working, and it was an awesome miracle to witness! -Meg-

Week 1 ups and downs

Well we all arrived safely with all our luggage and not much sleep. We had another 1 hour drive, after our 14 hour flight, from the airport to the base before we could find out where our home would be for the next 2 months.

We all managed to adjust pretty quickly to the time change except 1 year old Liam who kept his parents up for a few nights wanting to check out the cows wandering in the streets.

Immediately we were struck with how dirty everything is here, it will take a while to adjust to the dust and dirt but we know God has told us to give up our rights and prepare for anything and the team have done a great job of doing that. Some of us have got blocked up noses from the dust so pray we will not get to sick from that.

We met the staff here and found out all we will be doing over the next weeks, we will be making friends with local students, teaching english to the students and then working in the slums teaching basic english and math to the very poor children.

The food is amazing, but many of the team were excited to know mcdonalds is not to far away. Unfortunately Big Macs are not on the menu but some fish mac is the equivelent, I will tell you how that compares when I risk trying one!!

Well know that all is good, we are excited to see how God is going to use us here. Pray hard for us, we are going to need your prayers!!

Let God Be True

Walden Owen spoke on letting God be true this week, here are some of the responses from the students....

...that there is a lot of science to back up our faith. Though we don´t need it, God is awesome in that he gives us more evidence to back up our faith to those that need "proof".

...God has been showing just how perfectly creative He is. How could I not give everything for the one who made dinosaurs.....

...God showed me this week how completely awesome He is - how complex and perfectly He created all things. What we learned about creation vs evolution helped to increase my faith and combat the lies of evolution I have been taught through out school...
