I hope this letter finds
you well. I wanted to write you about an exciting school we are introducing
at YWAM Orlando. Starting March 30, 2009, we will be running the School
of Worship (SOW) for anyone who has completed a Discipleship Training
School. Recently a group of us returned
from a SOW tour, and I wanted to highlight some of the things that we
experienced on this trip while traveling to Nashville, Chicago, Boston,
New York City, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and Tampa. Throughout this
trip we had the privilege to lead many different church congregations
in times of worship. It was encouraging for us to see a desire for renewal
in the hearts of so many churches as they recognize the need for the
people of Jesus to get into the world and make a positive impact. Along
with leading worship for congregations, we were able to get into quite
a few venues to play alongside a variety of bands from each city we
traveled to; as well as playing at Cornerstone Music Festival. One thing
that sticks out about playing some of the different gigs was chatting
with some of the musicians in other bands. It was cool to see the message
of Christ colliding with what was going on in the venues.
Being able to lead a band
and make a difference in a variety of locations and settings is one
thing we are really wanting to value with the SOW at YWAM Orlando. In
this school, we will not just be sitting in a classroom studying forms
of worship in an attempt to understand, but it will be our actions committed
to growing in the skills God has placed in our lives. We will focus
a lot on sharpening the tools God has placed in our hands to impact
people through music. We will go through song-writing and theory classes,
alongside studying the Scriptures and spiritual aspects of why we worship
and how we can positively affect the world. Our desire summed
up into one phrase would be: "Cultivating a Generation to Seek the
Cross." You are invited to come share
this journey with us and allow God to use your talents to impact the
lives of our generation and the generations to come. www.ywamorlando.org/sow or call 407-273-1667

Psalm 102:18-22 Let this be recorded for future
generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord. Tell
them the Lord looked down from his heavenly sanctuary. He looked down
to earth from heaven to hear the groans of the prisoners, to release
those condemned to die. And so the Lord´s fame will be celebrated
in Zion, his praises in Jerusalem, when multitudes gather together and
kingdoms come to worship the Lord. |
